AboutMe I have been referred to by the press in New Zealand as a 'carpooling activist'. I believe that we need to make it easier and more rewarding for people to share rides. This is because a full car is more friendly to the environment and the community than an empty bus. By sharing more rides we could reduce vehicle counts, and this is what will make our cities more accessible. My approach to making it easier for people to share rides is to promote what I call 'flexible carpooling'. A pre-arranged carpool is a straight-jacket in our contemporary society: you have to be in a specific seat at a specific time. How about if you had a carpool that works when you do? Please check out www.flexiblecarpooling.org to learn how this is possible.
