FUTURELAB
DESIGN AND CREATE THE FUTURE OF MELBOURNE
FUTURELAB- Is a two day workshop designed to stimulate creativity and social entrepreneurship among a new generation of Melburnians, in response to the City of Melbourne's Future Melbourne Draft Plan. Futurelab's objective is to create and organise community projects that will make Melbourne a more sustainable and innovative city in which to live to 2020 and beyond.
Delegates will participate in a range of activities that will work towards building communities that are healthy, sustainable, connected, prosperous, safe, engaging and are in balance with their environment. A weekend packed with idea-storming, topical discussions, intense debates and group activities will develop around the six goals of the Future Melbourne Plan and the opportunity to plan projects to realise outcomes of the plan will be explored on the second day of Futurelab. We want you to design and create the future of Melbourne ...
Day 1 Creativity:
The first day involves extensive tours through the city (our canvas) where participants are encouraged to observe everyday life from the perspective of the Future Melbourne Goals.
Day 2 Innovation:
The second day involves a consolidation of the ideas generated on day one; through discussions and interactions with experts in a variety of fields participants will focus and develop a few key ideas for projects that will see the pathways and proposed outcomes of the Future Melbourne Plan realised. They will leave with ownership of, and inspiration from, these projects.
Also.. we will also be making community waste sculptures and other amazing art forms, listening to local dj Dave Cull mixing his vinyl collection & experiencing an amazing array of social entrepreneurs share their expertise with us.
